Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

What is Dialio?

Dialio is a mobile app that gives you a real phone number in 40+ countries. You can make and receive calls from your smartphone using Wi-Fi or mobile data — no SIM card needed.

How do I get started?

Download the app, sign in with your Google account, pick a phone number from any available country, and start calling. The whole process takes less than a minute.

Do I need a SIM card?

No. Dialio works entirely over the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data). You don't need a SIM card, a carrier plan, or even a phone number to get started.

Can I have multiple numbers?

Yes! You can have numbers from different countries at the same time. Each number is billed separately, and you can switch between them when making calls.

Calling

How do I make a call?

Open the app, go to the Keypad tab, enter the number you want to call (with country code, e.g. +1 for US), and tap the call button. You can also tap any contact from the Contacts tab.

Can I receive incoming calls?

Yes. When someone calls your Dialio number, you'll receive a push notification even if the app is closed. Just tap to answer.

What is call quality like?

Dialio uses WebRTC technology for crystal-clear voice calls. Call quality depends on your internet connection — a stable Wi-Fi or 4G/5G connection gives the best results.

Can I use the keypad during a call (IVR/phone menus)?

Yes. During an active call, tap the Keypad button to open the DTMF dialpad. You can press digits to navigate automated phone menus.

Can I put a call on hold or mute?

Yes. During a call, you have buttons for Mute, Hold, and Speaker. Tap them to toggle each feature on or off.

Numbers

Which countries are available?

We offer numbers in 40+ countries including the US, UK, Netherlands, Germany, France, Australia, Canada, and many more. Check the Numbers tab in the app for the full list.

Can I choose my number?

You can search for available numbers by country and area code. We show you a list of available numbers and you pick the one you like.

Can I release a number I no longer need?

Yes. Go to the Numbers tab, find the number you want to release, and tap the delete button. The number will be deactivated immediately.

Billing & Credits

How does billing work?

Dialio uses a simple credit-based system. You buy credits and they're used when you make calls. 1 credit = €0.01. There are no subscriptions or hidden fees.

How much do calls cost?

Rates depend on the destination. Calls to the US & Canada start at 2 credits/min (€0.02). Western Europe is 3 credits/min (€0.03). You can see the exact rate before placing any call.

How do I add credits?

Go to Settings in the app and tap one of the top-up buttons (€5, €10, or €20). Payment is handled through Google Play's in-app purchase system.

Do credits expire?

No. Your credits stay in your account until you use them. There's no expiration date.

Are incoming calls free?

Yes. Receiving calls on your Dialio number is completely free. Only outbound calls use credits.

Privacy & Security

Are my calls recorded?

No. We never record, store, or listen to your conversations. Your calls are encrypted end-to-end using WebRTC.

What data do you collect?

We collect only what's needed to provide the service: your email (for login), call logs (for your history), and phone numbers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Troubleshooting

My calls keep dropping. What can I do?

Call quality depends on your internet connection. Try switching from mobile data to Wi-Fi (or vice versa). Make sure you have a stable connection with at least 1 Mbps upload/download speed.

I'm not receiving incoming calls.

Make sure push notifications are enabled for Dialio in your phone settings. Also check that the app isn't being killed by your phone's battery optimization — add Dialio to the "don't optimize" list.
